Quick question: Jerz let me know earlier today that providing the physical address of all of our team members is actually required in order for them to receive their BCA cards (thanks for letting me know Jerz). I'm a bit confused by that because on the team signup form, the physical address was an OPTIONAL field, not required. Also, when trying to add a new player to our roster, it only asks for the name and email, no physical address. Before I go back to my team asking for that info, please let me know if providing the physical address is indeed required. Thanks.

Hi-- I am looking at adding one or two players to my roster. We will be playing out of the Hot Spot on Market near Van Ness. Please send me an email (it's on the front page of this website). This team will emphasize good people and good pool. You don't have to be as good a player as I am, but you should get along with others better then I do. :)
Thank you
Mike Cooley

Who was Luby and why do we have a Luby Tournament?
From Tom Seymour
"We met in the late 70's when I first moved to SF and joined in the pool scene here. I knew Luby for many years up to his death. He was a sweet and gentle man who loved the game of pool and always tried to help everyone enjoy the game more. He always had friendly advice for new players, encouraged all of us to play more and challenge ourselves, played on many teams in the Tavern League, the now-defunct Sunset League, and of course, was one of the founders of the SFPA. I played with Luby on teams in all those leagues and he was one of those teammates who was always good to be around because of his great love of the game and everyone who played it. And his pool stroke was as smooth as he was. :)"
Luby Pelletier (San Francisco)From the West Coast Challenge Hall of Fame:
Luby was instrumental in putting together the tournaments leading up to the first official West Coast Challenge. Without his vision, the WCC may never have occurred. He was a wonderful man who had the patience and willingness to teach potential players the game of pool, for which he was so fond. He played in at lease a dozen Challenges, helping six of those teams to the title.
Please honor the memory of Luby Pelletier and the spirit in which he and others founded the SFPA by joining us at this year's Luby Tournament. Come and Play or Coach the new players of our league.
