I need some help here... In Tuesday evenings match and a prior one, a foul was called when on a 'ball in hand' someone other than the shooter handled the cue ball and touched it last before the shot was taken. I thought I saw that this situation is, indeed, a foul mentioned in the Handbook, but now I cannot find the notation. Would someone please clarify who can handle the cue ball, and who has to be the last person to touch the cue ball before the shot is taken when it's "ball in hand"? Thanks in advance... David M, capt. Eagle Eyes.

Anyone planning on driving to Vegas on Tuesday May 19th? Also- anyone planning on driving back on Sunday or Monday the 24th or 25th? I'll share the drive and gas, and BART myself to a convenient pick-up point. Email ncc1515@comcast.net. Thanks, Lynn

LUBY Tournament when i was informed about the luby it was expressed to me that this was a tournament for beginners. maybe i misunderstood. when i got to Jillians i was a little intimidated because i saw that there were folks playing that have their own leagues, players that i feel have been playing in this league or other leagues for quite some time. also, i am some what shy and i would have liked the vets to have been a little more forth coming and helped or coached. sorry, i'm not the best with words or writing but i really wanted to voice that i think this tournament was announced to me as something it was not. this was not a beginners tournament. taking a look at who placed, i would love to see a tournament that was just for beginners. that said, i had a wonderful time and enjoyed playing with everyone thank you for having the Luby. just food for thought. thanks for having a space to vent.

Results of Qualifier #1 at Jillian's: Many thanks Jillian's. Ned Toyali - Jerry Tiernan gets a point. Dave Shroerlucke- Thom "the assasin" Moyer gets a point (and had to move his beer). Thanks to Mike Cooley (mr. Take-charge) and Leif Smith for running the tournament even though he was not allowed to play for being late. Our Head Referree is very strict about the rules and he carries a whip at all times. Please be on time for sign-ups. Jerz

Thanks to whoever put the blurb about Luby Pelletier on the homepage. We lost him before I joined the league, but I've heard so much about him. He obviously touched a lot of people. It's nice when we have these "Memorial" tournaments and/or awards to actually do some memorializing, and do some talking about the people who inspired them. Thanks again.

The Prowlers are on the Prowl for this season: We have been unable to find a home bar for the Prowlers. The intermediate solution is to have them play out of the Hearth or the Wild Side West when the teams are not at home. If your team is playing the Prowlers, then please take note:
Week 4 -- Prowlers vs Thieves Slim Jims ==> Wild Side West 2/23/10 Week 5 -- Prowlers vs Cafoholics ==> Wild Side West 3/2/10 Week 8 -- Prowlers vs Marlena's Magic ==> Hearth 3/23/10
Week 10, 11 & 13 of Inter-divisionals will also be affected. Jerz
