Welcome back for the second half of the season!

8-ball tournament: Qualifiers for the 8-ball tournament will take place on most Thursdays and Saturdays in April. Two players per qualifier advance to the final, which will take place on May 8 at Billiard Palacade. A one-time $25 entry gets you into as many qualifiers as you would like to play in. Check the Calendar tab for exact dates and times, along with results for each qualifier.

Board elections: The following offices are up for election this season: President (currently held by Joan Pettijohn), Secretary (held by Jocelyn Angeles), Member-at-Large (held by Troy Brunet), and Co-Head Referee (held by Stern Montoya). Please let a board member know if you are interested in running for one of these roles by April 19.

West Coast Challenge 81: An email update was sent to all members about the West Coast Challenge, which is being hosted by the SFPA in August. Please check your email or the West Coast Challenge tab for information about event logistics and how to volunteer.

Regular league play is taking a two-week break for BCA Las Vegas. We will return for Week 7 on April 5.

New league members and players with a winning percentage of under .500 for the past two seasons are invited to participate in the Luby Invitational tournament on Tuesday, March 22 at the Cinch Saloon. Signups start at 6:30 pm and play begins at 7. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the winners and high finishers! We had a strong turnout of 29 players at Billiard Palacade for our first tournament in more than two years. The event raised $1000 for the American Cancer Society, donated in honor of Bernie King.

On Sunday, March 13, we will be contesting the Bernie King Memorial tournament at Billiard Palacade (5179 Mission Street).

This is a charity event with two brackets, one for players with a record of .501 or higher in their last full season and one for players with a record of .500 or lower in their last full season. (For the purposes of this tournament, “last full season” will mean Fall 2019 or earlier.) The entry fee for SFPA members is $20. Non-SFPA members are allowed to play with a $25 entry and will participate in the upper bracket.

Warmup starts at 11:15 a.m. and tournament play begins at 12 noon. We hope to see you there!
