Congratulations to the Happy Lounge Rawhides, who won the City Championship for the sixth time under the Rawhides team name. They turned on the heat at the most important moments, coming through the losers bracket with match scores of 9-1, 9-4, 9-2, 9-1, and 9-5 to double dip for the crown. Happy Lounge was their fourth different home base in a championship season, following winning stints at Route 101, Ginger, and Slate.
The Happy Lounge Pool Cleaners finished runner-up for the second year in a row and should be well poised to make a deep run in the playoffs next season, while regular season champs Slate of the Union took home the bronze after a title-winning season in the spring. The strong Family Irish Brigade team rounded out the top four.
While there were no West Coast Challenge slots on the line, we had a great turnout of 34 players for the four traditional season-ending individual tournaments. Congratulations to the winners!
All-Star: Mike Maxwell, Happy Lounge Rawhides
Rising Star: Rocky Angel, Hole in the Wall Bangers
Star Search: Travis Yallup, Churchill Get You Saved
Women’s: Tina Asuncion, Pilsner Penguins
